Question. What is the Meaning of Faith?

To consider the answer to the question “What is the meaning of faith?” the obvious direction is to look down the path that religion provides. This for many of us is the most natural route to follow as we believe in one God however we choose to worship him or follow his footsteps.

The following quotes however give meaning to a broader definition of the word faith.

“Being sure of what you hoped for and certain of what you do not see.”

“Faith is the force of life.”

“Faith is believing in things that common sense tells you not to.”

“We walk by faith, not by sight.”

Having faith could be in ourselves. The belief that we can achieve what we set out to achieve. We have faith in the fact that we shall go out of the door each day and shall return home at the end of it.

We may also have faith in family, friends or business partners that they can provide us with love or perhaps solutions to a business dilemma.

Faith is an understanding, belief or thought that cannot be substantiated or proven. No evidence exists to back up our theories, thoughts or ideas yet we are convinced that we are indeed right.

Although to one extent or another we have all experienced the existence of God, his physical presence has yet to be revealed. We feel his love in our hearts, mind and spirit and this is enough to give us the faith that he will be by our side every step of the way through the journey of life.

How fantastic is that?
